Make the Pasley Islands Your Next Kayak Adventure

The Pasley Island group is a beautiful archipelago of eight islands tucked between Bowen and the Sunshine Coast. Kayaking here is arguably the best Vancouver getaway in the Lower Mainland. A short drive from Snug Cove takes you to the west side of Bowen Island and Tunstall Bay Beach. During the full day kayaking tour, we will explore around the Pasleys, paddling among seals, while bald eagles soar overhead. We will take a lunch break on a beach where you can swim or simply take in the surrounding beauty. This kayaking tour is a totally unforgettable day out and should be part of your west coast itinerary.

Pasley Island Discovery Tour details

Please meet your guide at Tunstall Bay on the west side of Bowen Island, around 15 minutes before your tour start time.  We will be easy to spot, look for either a car with kayaks on the roof or a trailer loaded up with your vessel for the day!  If you need a ride from Snug Cove let us know when you make your booking.

We start the tour with on-land instruction to ensure that you are comfortable and confident before launching your kayak. Our paddler to guide ratio is 6:1, we keep our tour small for your safety on and off the water.  Your guide will be happy to share some paddling tips during the day to enhance your trip.  We are always on the lookout for amazing wildlife to enjoy with you.

After fitting you in your Personal Floatation Device, our launch takes place directly from the beach at Tunstall Bay.  If you require a ride to Tunstall Bay we can meet at the shop in Snug Cove and shuttle you there.  Let us know in advance if you need a ride across the island.

This tour is suitable for adults and teens ages 13+. We recommend that everyone has some basic kayaking experience as it will be a full day of activity.  Advance reservations are required.  Remember sunscreen, a sunhat, plenty of water to drink and something to eat for lunch.  There are great options to buy lunch immediately next to the kayak shop if you prefer.

Where we will paddle on our Kayaking Tour

After our safety briefing, we will launch you and head North, following the coastline past Onion Island where the seals hang out. If we are quiet they will happily share the evening sun with us.  After chilling out with the seals we continue on to Bowen Bay and then further north to King Edward beach.

At this point we will cross the Collingwood Channel to the northernmost of the Pasley Islands, Ragged.  As we make our crossing we will have spectacular views of the Tantalus Mountains in the distance ahead of us.  We will paddle around Ragged checking out the shoreline for sea stars and seals before crossing south to Mickey.

Next we will head west over to the main Pasley Island, cutting between it and Silver Islet enroute to Little Hermit.  This will be our lunch break, on the shady side of the island, looking north-east all the way to Squamish.  After lunch we will head south taking in some of the other Pasley Islands before commencing our paddle home.  We will have you back on dry land shortly before 4pm, here your guide will share photos of your day.

Wind substitution

In the event of strong westerly winds, your guide may choose to substitute the Howe Sound Explorer tour.
