Outdoor Fun Awaits with our Summer Kayak Camp
Are you looking for a completely different experience this summer? we offer excitement, fun, fresh air, and learning lots of new skills. Our camps are a great place for your kids to make new friends! Places are limited to 10 children per camp and each camp has two instructors. Make this summer an unforgettable one for your child.
Kayaking camp details
The sheltered waters of Deep Bay/Kwilákm, is where most of the fun and games take place. We launch every day from Sandy Beach, just a short walk from the kayak shop in Snug Cove.
On day one we work with each of the children to select the best kayak for them. This kayak will be theirs for the week and once selected our guides will teach everyone about the different parts of the kayak. Paddling basics and kayaking safety focus heavily on morning one, to make sure all the children are aware of expected behaviour. Each child will be fitted with a Personal Flotation Device, please make sure to read our ‘what to bring’ information!
After this first morning briefing it’s time to hit the ocean! The first afternoon is about learning how to paddle forwards, how to stop, and how to turn a kayak. After instruction, children at this age very quickly start to master these skills.
The next few days the children build upon these foundational skills and start to explore more. We may have fun in a ‘chariot race,’ or maneuvering through an obstacle course, or kayak tag with a sponge. At the end of each day each child has the responsibility for cleaning and stowing their equipment.

Bowen Island drop off and pick-up logistics
Summer Camp runs Monday to Friday from 9:30 am until 3:30 pm. Please arrange to drop off your child around 9.15am in the morning and collect before 4pm each day. Thanks!

North Shore drop off and pick-up logistics
Chaperoned transportation between Horseshoe Bay and Snug Cove on Bowen Island is included. Please drop your child off by the Orca statue at Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal between 8:30 and 8:45 am. Pick up at the same place at around 4:20pm.

Indicate the number of children who will attend.
Complete the registration form including the child’s name and age.
A 50% deposit is required at the time of registration. The final payment will be due 30 days before camp begins. An email will be sent to remind you.
