2 Day Tour

Looking for your first overnight backcountry paddling adventure?  This guided overnight trip is perfect for paddlers with some experience who want to explore Howe Sound with knowledgeable kayaking guides.  The timing of this tour may be able to be amended to to a date that works for you, subject to guide availability.

DAY 1:  Paddle north from Snug Cove to Cates Bay.  Take a breather and prepare for the crossing to Gambier Island.  Once the crossing is complete, make camp at Halkett Marine Park. Our guides will help you set up your tent, and afterward you can enjoy the bay or paddle some more, practicing you paddling skills with one of our fully trained guides.

DAY 2:  After breakfast, we will make the crossing back to Bowen Island.  We can explore the northern coast of Bowen Island, stopping for a bite of lunch on one of the beaches, before completing the paddle home to Snug Cove.

Minimum duration paddling each day 3 hours.

Food:

Although paddling in Howe Sound is a backcountry experience, every effort is taken to impress you with the food we prepare   We will ensure any food allergies are catered for and will shop to taste as best we can.

Two days/one night.  Minimum 2 people.

3 Day Tour

For experienced paddlers looking for a memorable adventure.  This 2 night guided trip takes paddlers deeper into Howe Sound on a truly unforgettable tour.  The timing of this tour may be able to be amended to to a date that works for you, subject to guide availability.

DAY 1:  Paddle north from Snug Cove to Cates Bay.  Take a breather and prepare for the crossing to Gambier Island.  After completing the crossing, paddle further north along the east coast of Gambier Island, past Pam Rocks and Anvil Island to find a wonderfully secluded spot to camp for the evening.  

DAY 2:  After breakfast, you will be guided on a full day paddle, enjoying the spectacular sights of the north shore mountains before returning to your campsite for an evening meal.

DAY 3:   We will pack up camp, after breakfast, and make the crossing back to Bowen Island.  We can explore the northern coast of Bowen Island, stopping for a bite of lunch on one of the beaches, before completing the paddle home to Snug Cove.

4 Day Tour

For those seeking a real adventure, no need to travel all the way to Vancouver Island or beyond!!  

Experienced paddlers can join us on this 3 night guided trip, which allows us to explore the whole of Howe Sound on our most adventurous tour.  

This trip has two dedicated guides to ensure you are well looked after on this memorable trip.  

We will plan our route in detail the week before we depart.  Our primary aim will be to circumnavigate Gambier Island, camping at different camp sites on each of the 3 nights.  That will mean having breakfast and breaking camp to load up our kayaks each morning. 

Minimum duration paddling each day 5 hours.

Food:

Pricing:

Four days/three nights.  A minimum of 2 people is required for this tour to run.

• Waterproof case or ziplock bag for cell phone, camera, valuables
• Neoprene booties, watershoes or running shoes.

• Motion sickness tablets, gum or candy. 

The following items are available for rent:

• Sleeping bag
• Sleeping mat (Thermarest)
• Dry bags for packing all items

A 50% deposit is required at time of booking to reserve your dates. Full payment is due 30 days prior to departure.

In case of cancellation: If 30 days or more before the departure date, a full refund wll be given. 15-29 days before the departure date, a 50% refund will be given. Less than 15 days before the departure date, no refund will be given.

Gratuities – While tipping your guide is not mandatory it is very much appreciated. Your guide works very hard to make sure you are safe, well fed and enjoy your trip. If you think you were well looked after a suggested guide tip is 10% of your trip cost. If desired you may tip them via your credit or debit card on return to our shop in Snug Cove.
