Ocean Wise Beach Clean Up
Community beach cleanups, whether a group of 100 people or 2, are a great way to pay it back to the beaches and ocean we love so much. It’s important to look after our natural playgrounds if we want to preserve them for future generations, and the wildlife that call them home.
The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is a national conservation initiative, run by Ocean Wise and WWF-Canada. It operates in every province and territory and is recognized as one of the largest direct action conservation programs in the country.
“Since 1994, there have been 27,800 cleanups that have collected more than 2 million kgs of trash across Canada’s shorelines.
We thank more than 937,000 volunteers that have led and participated in cleanups throughout the years, cleaning 44,262 km of freshwater and marine shores in Canada. We couldn’t have done this without you.”
