Cancellation Policy

If you need to make a change to your reservation or experience an unexpected delay in your arrival please email or call us on 604 947 9266 so that we can help you make changes.

Rentals: 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an hourly reservation and receive a full refund. Any cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be refunded 50% of the reservation rate. Any changes to your reservation date or time with less than 24 hours’ notice can be made subject to availability

Overnight Rentals: reservations require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellation and full refund. Any cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice will be refunded 50% of the total reservation rate. Any changes to your reservation date with less than 48 hours’ notice can be made subject to availability.

Tours and Lessons: At least 5 days’ notice is required to cancel tours or lessons and receive a full refund. Any cancellation with less than 5 days’ notice will be refunded 50% of the reservation rate. Tours and lessons may be rescheduled with 48 hours’ notice.  No refund will be given for same day cancellations.

Multi-Day Tours: A 50% deposit is required at time of booking to reserve your dates. Full payment is due 30 days prior to departure. In case of cancellation: If 30 days or more before the departure date, a full refund wll be given. 15-29 days before the departure date, a 50% refund will be given. Less than 15 days before the departure date, no refund will be given.

Summer Camps and Youth Skills: At least 14 days’ notice is required before the first day of camp to cancel and receive a full refund.  Moving camp week may be possible subject to availability.  Cancellations between 7 and 14 days will result in a 50% refund. Cancellation with less than 7 days will result in no refund.

Large Group Bookings: 7 days’ notice is required to cancel group bookings of more than 10 people of any type of service (rental, tour, lesson). Any cancellation within 7 days of the booking will forfeit the deposit or 50% of the total reservation.

Full Moon and Sunset Tours – Cloudy Skies: If a full moon tour is booked but the conditions are such that the moon or sunset will not be visible at all during the tour, all participants will receive a full refund. Please contact the shop the morning of your tour to inquire about conditions.

Unsafe Conditions: Bowen Island Sea Kayaking reserves the right to cancel any reservation if the conditions on the water are deemed to be unsafe.  These cancellations will be refunded at 100%. Paddling in light rain can be enjoyable if you are properly dressed.
